Background

China Copper Mines Limited (CCM), a prominent privately owned mining company established in 2010 and located in Mimbula, Fitula, Chingola District, Copperbelt Province, Zambia, is currently inviting applications for multiple full-time positions. Our operations encompass mineral resource exploration, mining, hydrometallurgical processing, sulphuric acid production, mineral trading, and mining investment. Position Overview

The Cook & Housekeeper will be responsible for preparing and presenting authentic Chinese cuisine, alongside maintaining cleanliness and order in domestic and office environments.

Responsibilities

• Prepare traditional and contemporary Chinese meals, including breakfast, lunch, and dinner, tailored to staff numbers and dietary needs.
• Perform daily cleaning duties covering office spaces, bedrooms, bathrooms, and common areas, including laundry and linen changes.
• Ensure kitchen hygiene, safe food storage, and cleanliness of cooking utensils.
• Plan simple menus, monitor food inventory, and prepare shopping lists.
• Communicate effectively in basic English and follow instructions accurately.
• Maintain an organized, reliable, and clean working environment.
• Complete a practical cooking assessment as part of the recruitment process.
• Adapt to a fast-paced environment, including standing for extended periods and lifting kitchen supplies.

Minimum Requirements

• Grade 12 School Certificate.
• 2 to 4 years of hands-on culinary experience in a professional Chinese restaurant or hotel kitchen.
• Culinary degree or certification in Chinese cuisine preferred.
• Certification in food safety, hygiene, or basic food handling.
• Excellent time management with the ability to work under pressure.
• Strong teamwork and organizational skills to collaborate with kitchen and front-of-house teams.

Additional Notes

This role is based in Lusaka. Successful candidates must be prepared to relocate immediately upon appointment. Accommodation and meals will be provided.
