We are inviting applications to fill the following vacant position:
POSITION: COST ACCOUNTANT
CONTRACT: PERMANENT
LOCATION: LUSAKA
Reporting to the Management Accountant, the successful candidate will be accountable for the following:
- Assist in preparation of the monthly periodic management accounts
- Preparing monthly cost variance reports
- Periodic collation of raw material pricing for BOMs
- Assist in budget formulation, implementation and control
- Coordinate monthly inventory counts
- Prepare monthly inventory reconciliations
- Perform CWIP analysis and fixed asset capitalization
- Assist to track fixed assets spent to budget
- Prepare monthly fixed assets reconciliations
- Preparing statutory returns for Excise tax
- Providing accounting, budgeting and management information services
This job is particularly suitable for candidates who meet the following minimum requirements:
- Grade 12 Certificate
- Minimum part qualified CIMA/ACCA accountant or equivalent in the related field
- ZICA Membership
- At least 3 years’ accounting experience in a manufacturing environment
- Ability to work with accounting packages
- Knowledge in SAP is added advantage
- Ability to advise on management of financial resources
