Huachen International Supply Chain Limited seeks to employ a Customs Operator in the Clearance Department to join our growing team.

Responsibilities or duties

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Submit RIB applications via email to border officers.
• Register all types of bonded warehouse customs entries.
• Follow up on customs clearance processes, including the release of documents, and update clearance progress.
• Be familiar with on-site border runner procedures and workflows.
• Be capable of training entry-level interns with no prior experience, enabling them to quickly master customs entry registration and clearance standards.
• Perform any other duties as may be assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications or requirements

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

• Minimum Diploma in Clearing and Forwarding or related field.
• Must reside in Ndola or the Copperbelt.
• Minimum of 3 years’ extensive experience as a Clearance Officer.
• Extensive experience with RIT, RIB, and Final Clearance, and the ability to register all relevant types of customs entries.
• Possesses working relationships with customs authorities.
• Must have prior border operation experience, including but not limited to Kazungula, Chirundu, Nakonde, Livingstone and other border posts.
• Strong experience in ASYCUDA system operations and related documentation handling.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS

1. As a customs clearance operator, weekends and public holidays are generally not observed, and the candidate must be proactive and committed to work requirements.
2. Must be willing to work overtime in the evenings, as customs entry registration may be required at night.
3. Must have extensive ASYCUDA experience and strong communication experience with ZRA.

NOTE. All interviews shall be conducted in-person at our Sakania Office in Ndola.
