JOB DETAILS:
Job Summary:
To operate and maintain specialized cutting machines (e.g., for stone, metal, or composite materials) to cut materials to precise dimensions as per job orders and drawings.
Key Responsibilities:
- Set up, calibrate, and operate cutting machines (e.g., bridge saws, guillotines).
- Interpret cutting lists and technical drawings.
- Select appropriate blades/tools and adjust machine settings for different materials.
- Inspect cut pieces for accuracy and quality.
- Perform routine maintenance and basic troubleshooting on machines.
- Adhere to strict safety protocols when operating heavy machinery.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Craft Certificate in Fitting and Machining or relevant technical training.
- Minimum 3 years of experience as a machinist, preferably in stone, metal, or aluminium cutting.
- Proficiency in using precision measuring instruments.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
