Description:

Reports to Data Coordinator. The incumbent works with the District Health Information Officers, as well as District Focal Point Persons, this position involves the collection and entry of patient data into paper-based and electronic data collection tools.

Main Duties:

  • Enters all patient interaction data in an accurate and timely manner from all service points as guided by SOPs and associated relevant documentation
  • Have a good understanding of all data being collected and associated performance indicators for each program area
  • Capacity building of MoH staff in data entry, retrieval, analysis, visualization and reporting using DHIS2.
  • Ensures accurate and complete data is submitted on time
  • Responds to all routine and ad-hoc data queries and verifications promptly
  • Provides data and M&E support to health facility staff and CIDRZ in-house clinical staff
  • Provides weekly and monthly data collection reports, highlighting challenges and success
  • Assists clinical staff in ensuring all registers are available and fully updated; participating in the compilation of HIA2 reports at the facility and ensuring there is consistent reporting across all facility reports
  • Works with District Health Information Officer/ Facility TB Focal Point persons, Facility In-Charges to initiate and actively participate in facility data review meetings
  • Attends weekly all meetings as requested by facility or CIDRZ staff
  • Be collaborative with facility staff ensuring facility performance and targets are shared with facility in-charge and displayed at visible locations within facility
  • Assist in the improvement of all data collection tools by providing feedback for improvements and new feature inclusions
  • Handles patient data with utmost confidentiality and follow the set data safety procedures as specified
  • Any other duties as may arise that are requested by the supervisors

Qualification:

  • Grade 12 certificate
  • Minimum Diploma in Computer Studies, M&E, Social Sciences or related fields
  • Work experience: 1 year preferred
  • Experience in data quality management
  • Good understanding of SmartCare, Yathu, FIMS and DHIS2 will be an added advantage
  • Good understanding of SmartCare will be an added advantage
