Lumwana Mining Company seeks to recruit a highly motivated and committed employee for the position of Demand Planning Coordinator to join the versatile Supply Chain Team. We are in search of individuals who can champion Barrick’s DNA by:

Responsibilities or duties
Reporting to the Superintendent – Demand & Supply, you will be responsible for ensuring the availability of critical stock and major commodities through effective demand planning, forecasting, inventory coordination and alignment of material availability with forecasted site requirements.
Your duties will include but are not limited to the following:
- Manage the demand planning process to ensure timely and efficient forecasting and replenishment of key commodities.
- Ensure commodity consumables are replenished on time, and adequate stock levels are maintained on site.
- Monitor compliance with MRP runs and conducts weekly reviews against established KPIs.
- Coordinate annual, quarterly and monthly demand planning meetings for key commodities.
- Provide technical and commercial liaison between Supply Chain, customers and operational support teams.
- Support the review, development and standardization of business processes in line with industry’s best practice.
- Ensure effective administration and management of consignment and Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI) agreements in accordance with agreed terms and conditions.
- Maintain accurate SAP information records to ensure correct pricing for VMI and consignment agreements.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures and applicable requirements relating to contracting, procurement and demand forecasting.
- Develop and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders across LMC’s mining operations.
- Assist in preparing regular reports and analytical information to support effective management of Procurement and Supply Chain KPIs.
- Ensure personnel are appropriately inducted, competent and aware of workplace rules, critical procedures and applicable safety requirements.
- Actively contribute to site safety initiatives and support the implementation of safety-related changes as directed by management.
- Promote, monitor and enforce compliance with safe work practices.
- Ensure incidents are reported and investigated in accordance with Company policy and statutory requirements, and that corrective actions are implemented and closed out.
- Ensure appropriate systems, procedures, facilities and workforce competencies are maintained to support legal compliance, incident prevention and effective execution of work.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives aimed at improving demand planning, inventory availability, cost efficiency and supply chain performance.
Qualifications or requirements
To be considered for this position, you must meet the following:
- Full Grade 12 School Certificate.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Purchasing & Supply Chain Management, Business Administration or a related field.
- In-depth knowledge and understanding of international contracts and commercial terms.
- Member of the Zambia Institute of Purchasing and Supply (ZIPS).
- Strong negotiation and commercial management skills.
- Strong analytical, numerical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate technical requirements into clear commercial and procurement documentation.
Experience needed
- Minimum of 3 years’ relevant experience in procurement, supply chain or demand planning, preferably within the mining or heavy industry sector.
- Proven experience using SAP, SYSPRO, SAGE or ERP system.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and data analytics tools such as Power BI, SQL .
