Background

We are seeking a reliable and skilled Light Truck Driver to join our team immediately. Due to the remote nature of the project site and current road conditions, this role requires a candidate who is not only a skilled driver but also mechanically inclined.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Transportation:Safely transport construction materials (cement, steel, tools, small plant) from suppliers to the project site.

Site Logistics:Assist in the movement of materials around the site and support the logistics team.

Vehicle Maintenance & Repairs:Perform daily pre-trip inspections. Diagnose and perform minor mechanical repairs (e.g., changing tires, adjusting brakes, battery issues, fixing minor electrical faults) to minimize downtime.

Safety:Adhere to all traffic laws and site safety regulations. Ensure loads are properly secured.

Documentation:Maintain accurate logbooks and delivery notes.

REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS

License: Valid Driver’s License (Minimum Class C1 or Code 10/14).

PrDP: Valid Professional Driving Permit (PrDP) is an advantage.

Experience: Minimum of 3 years’ experience driving light trucks in a construction or logistics environment.

Mechanical Knowledge (ESSENTIAL):

Candidates must possess hands-on mechanical knowledge.

Proven ability to troubleshoot and resolve minor breakdowns independently (e.g., tire changes, fixing leaks, battery issues) is a strict requirement.

Note: Due to the distance from major service centers, the ability to fix minor mechanical issues on the road is critical for this role.

Road Knowledge: Familiarity with the local road network and ability to drive on rough terrain/gravel roads.

Fitness:Physically fit and willing to assist with manual loading/offloading where necessary
