ECONOMIST – EXTERNAL/FISCAL SECTOR (2 POSTS)
GRADE: BoZM5
Job Purpose
To produce analytical reports and undertake short term research to support monetary policy formulation.
Main Accountabilities
- Produce analytical reports on macroeconomic developments to support monetary policy formulation.
- Undertake short-term research on macroeconomic developments to support monetary policy formulation.
- Collect macroeconomic data and maintain a database; and
- Liaise with relevant stakeholders on economic developments
Economics
Qualifications and Experience
- MSc/MA/MPhil in Economics, Money and Banking or Monetary and Financial Economics or equivalent;
- Grade 12 School Certificate with a minimum of five (5) ‘O’ Levels (credit or better)
- Minimum of three (3) years’ relevant experience.
Key Knowledge and Attributes
- Strong macroeconomic modelling and forecasting skills.
- Ability to work in a high pressure and deadline sensitive environment.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft office and econometrics software.
- Interpersonal skills and ability to work harmoniously in a team.
- Strong writing and research skills.
- Analytical thinking.
CONDITIONS OF SERVICE
Bank of Zambia Conditions of Service will apply.
