JOB DETAILS:
Key Responsibilities:
- Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair electrical wiring, systems, fixtures, and equipment in industrial, commercial, or residential settings (as per company focus).
- Perform electrical installations and terminations for power distribution systems, lighting systems, motor control centers (MCCs), and machinery.
- Read and interpret electrical blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to determine the layout of wiring and equipment.
- Diagnose malfunctioning systems using test equipment (e.g., multimeters, clamp meters, meggers) to identify the root cause of breakdowns.
- Inspect electrical components such as transformers, circuit breakers, and switches for safety and functionality.
- Adhere to the Zambian Wiring Code and all national electrical codes and standards to ensure safe and compliant work practices.
- Replace or repair faulty electrical components, including switches, relays, contactors, and wiring.
- Carry out preventative maintenance schedules on electrical systems to prevent future failures.
- Work collaboratively with other tradespeople (e.g., instrumentation technicians, fitters) on multi-disciplinary projects.
- Complete necessary job cards, risk assessments, and documentation for all work performed.
