Job Summary
We are looking for a dedicated and knowledgeable Environmental Safeguards Officer to ensure that all company projects and operations comply with environmental regulations and sustainability standards. The ideal candidate will play a key role in minimizing environmental impact and promoting responsible resource management.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure compliance with environmental laws, regulations, and standards
- Conduct Environmental Impact Assessments (EIAs) and environmental audits
- Develop and implement environmental management plans (EMPs)
- Monitor project activities to ensure adherence to environmental safeguards
- Identify potential environmental risks and recommend mitigation measures
- Prepare environmental reports and documentation for regulatory authorities
- Promote environmental awareness and sustainability practices within the organization
- Liaise with government agencies, stakeholders, and communities on environmental matters
- Monitor waste management, pollution control, and resource utilization
- Ensure proper handling and disposal of hazardous materials
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Natural Resource Management, Natural Sciences, or a related field
- Minimum of 5 years relevant experience
- Strong knowledge of environmental regulations and compliance standards
- Experience in Environmental Impact Assessments (EIA) and audits
- Good report writing and data analysis skills
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills

- Strong organizational skills
