JOB DETAILS:

The Fire and Emergency Response Lieutenant is responsible for ensuring preparedness and effective response to all fire and emergency situations. This role includes fire prevention, firefighting, rescue operations, equipment inspections, and maintenance. The position ensures safety compliance and coordination with emergency response teams.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate fire and emergency response teams.
• Plan, supervise, and execute fire drills and training sessions.
• Oversee fire inspections and ensure compliance with fire safety regulations.
• Manage the maintenance and functionality of firefighting equipment.
• Prepare incident reports and document emergency responses.

Minimum Requirements – Education, Experience and Skills

• Grade 12 certificate
• Tertiary education in Fire Technology or related field.
• Minimum of 10 years firefighting experience.
• Certified in fire compliance inspection and verification.
• Qualified in refilling pressurized fire extinguisher mediums.
• Heavy-duty driver’s license required.
• Advanced knowledge of fire suppression techniques.
• Strong leadership and emergency decision-making skills.
• Competency in equipment failure analysis and safety audits.
• Ability to operate all fire and rescue equipment.
• Effective communication and coordination abilities.
