FIRE PROTECTION TECHNICIAN, X 2

Job Purpose
As a Fire Protection Technician, you will be responsible for installing, inspecting, maintaining, and repairing fire suppression systems. You will also conduct tests and ensure compliance with safety regulations, standards and training received. Additionally, you will provide technical support and guidance to customers.
Key Roles and Responsibilities
- Install and test fire suppression systems to ensure that the product works correctly according to manuals, training received, guidelines, Fire Risk Assessment (FRA) and drawings.
- Service and maintain fire suppression system to ensure local regulations and quality standards are met.
- Ensure all installation and service paperwork is completed and promptly submitted in terms of defined best practices.
- Promote company products and services.
- Remain just and faithful to the company in the performance of your duties.
Qualifications and Experience
Experience: Previous experience as a Fire Suppression Technician or similar role.
Education:
- Full Grade 12 certificate with not less than 5 credits
- An Advanced Technician Certificate /Diploma - Heavy Equipment Repair, Auto Electrician, or Auto Mechanic.
- First Aid and Firefighting certification or training is a plus.
- Registered member of Engineering Institution of Zambia (EIZ) or equivalent.
Technical skills and Competences:
- Knowledge of fire protection systems, including sprinkler systems, fire alarms, and fire suppression.
- Familiarity with relevant safety regulations and standards.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Good physical stamina and ability to work at heights.
- Hands on with minimum supervision.
- Computer literate.
- Basic business and financial understanding.
Communication: Excellent customer service skills with sound interpersonal, communication and report writing skills.
Other:
- Valid driver’s license.
- Own accommodation in area of operation.
