Background

Tera Fleet Management Limited seeks to employ a Fleet/Operations Supervisor in the Operations Department to join our growing team.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate daily transport and fleet operations.
  • Monitor truck movements transporting dry cargo into and out of DRC and Tanzania; supervise dispatches, deliveries and turnaround times.
  • Supervise drivers, driver assistants and other operational staff.
  • Ensure all trucks have valid and required documentation before dispatch.
  • Monitor driver performance, discipline, attendance and compliance with company procedures.
  • Coordinate with Fleet Managers regarding truck availability, breakdowns and maintenance.
  • Monitor fuel usage, trip expenses and driver funds.
  • Ensure proper completion and submission of trip documents, PODs, vouchers and reports.
  • Handle operational challenges and provide timely solutions.
  • Maintain effective communication with clients and other stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance with company SOPs, safety requirements and transport regulations.
  • Prepare daily, weekly and monthly operational reports.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Diploma or Degree in Logistics, Transport Management, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration or a related field.
  • At least 2–3 years of experience as a fleet officer, fleet supervisor or fleet manager.
  • Must be experienced with DRC, Zambia and Tanzania routes, including all required documentation, border and toll fees, and clearance procedures.
  • Must have hands-on experience working with cross-border fleet transportation into DRC and Tanzania, including supervising drivers and operational teams.

Other Requirements

  • Must be a resident in Ndola, Kitwe or the Copperbelt.
  • Membership with Zambia Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (ZCILT) will be an added advantage.
  • Strong computer skills, especially Microsoft Excel and Word.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Good planning and coordination abilities.
  • Problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • High level of integrity, accountability and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage and motivate a team.
