Background
Our client, in the Energy and Petroleum Industry, a downstream oil and gas company operating retail service stations, fuel depots, and bulk supply chains across the country wishes to hire the following positions.
Job Purpose
To lead, coordinate, and supervise labour teams on petrol-station construction sites, ensuring quality, safety, and timely completion of works.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate daily activities of tradespeople and labourers across all disciplines.
- Allocate tasks, monitor progress, and ensure work meets drawings, specifications, and quality standards.
- Interpret construction drawings and brief teams on daily targets.
- Enforce HSE compliance, conduct toolbox talks, and report incidents.
- Manage materials, tools, and equipment on site; coordinate deliveries.
- Liaise with project manager, client representatives, and subcontractors.
- Maintain daily site reports, timesheets, and progress records.
Qualifications & Certifications
- Diploma or certificate in Building Construction, Civil Engineering, or related field.
- OSHA or Zambian HSE certification is an advantage.
Experience
- Minimum 5–7 years’ construction experience with at least 3 years as a site foreman.
- Prior experience on petrol-station or commercial construction projects is strongly preferred.
Competencies
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficiency in reading drawings and planning daily work.
- Commitment to safety, quality, and schedule adherence.
Working Conditions
- Full-time site-based role with extended hours as project demands.
- Responsible for multiple trades and large teams; high accountability.
