GENERATOR MECHANICS – (HUNTLEY FARM) (02)

Responsibilities or duties

• Performing routine maintenance and inspections on standby and prime power generators.
• Installing, commission, and decommission generator systems
• Test generators for performance and compliance with safety and efficiency standards
• Maintaining accurate records of maintenance and repair work
• Replace or repair damaged or worn parts, including wiring, fuel systems, and control panels
• Conducting load testing and synchronization of generator units
• Ensuring compliance with safety codes, standards, and environmental regulations.
• Providing emergency response repairs during power outages or generator failures
• Assisting with generator relocation, rigging, and setup when needed

Qualifications or requirements (e.g., education, skills)

• Diploma or equivalent (technical training or certification preferred).
• Member of the Engineering Institute of Zambia

Experience needed

• 2+ years of experience working with generators or diesel engines

Any other provided details (e.g., benefits, work environment, team info, or additional notes)

• Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
• In-depth knowledge of diesel and gas-powered generator systems.
• Skilled in using diagnostic tools, hand and power tools, and multimeters
• Reliability & Time Management
