About the Role
Medici-Land Governance is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented GIS Analyst to join our dynamic Land Governance team. The successful candidate will support digital land administration and land titling activities by developing, managing, analyzing, and maintaining spatial data to facilitate land demarcation, planning, surveying, and mapping operations.
The ideal candidate should possess strong technical expertise in Geographic Information Systems (GIS), spatial data analysis, automation, and geodatabases, while demonstrating excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Producing accurate parcel boundaries and vectorized land demarcation data.
- Applying planning standards to pre-vectorized datasets under the guidance of City Planners.
- Developing and running GIS scripts to automate spatial data processing and analysis.
- Run coding scripts and automate techniques to manipulate, extract, locate, and analyze geographic data.
- Performing spatial analysis including buffering, clipping, overlay analysis, and feature extraction.
- Maintaining, updating, securing, and performing quality assurance of spatial databases.
- Identifying and correcting GIS field data discrepancies.
- Supporting City Planners in preparing layout plans, land-use maps, and planning documentation.
- Producing diagrams, general plans, and survey documentation required for statutory approvals.
- Participating in reconnaissance surveys, field verification (ground truthing), and spatial data validation.
- Providing technical GIS support and assisting with land information requests.
- Performing any other duties assigned by the Lead GIS Engineer.
Minimum Qualifications
- Applicants should possess:
- Grade 12 School Certificate
- Bachelors Degree in Geomatic Engineering, Land Survey or any related field.
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience.
