We are looking for a proactive, results-oriented Problem Solver to represent our company before Zambian government institutions and ensure smooth, compliant operations.

Role Overview

As our Government Relations and Regulatory Representative, you will act as the key point of contact between Metal-Grid.com and relevant authorities. You will solve operational challenges, navigate regulatory requirements, and build strong institutional relationships.

Key Responsibilities

  • Represent the company before government bodies, including:
    • ZEMA (Zambia Environmental Management Agency)
    • Zambia Customs Services
    • Ministry of Mines and Minerals Development
    • Other relevant ministries, agencies, and local authorities
  • Handle licensing, permits, compliance approvals, and regulatory documentation
  • Monitor and interpret relevant laws, policies, and regulations affecting our trade and recycling operations
  • Proactively identify and resolve regulatory or bureaucratic bottlenecks
  • Liaise with internal teams to ensure all operations remain fully compliant
  • Build and maintain excellent working relationships with key officials and stakeholders

Ideal Candidate Profile

  • Strong problem-solving skills and a practical, solutions-oriented mindset
  • Legal background or experience in regulatory affairs, government relations, or compliance is highly preferred but not mandatory
  • Good understanding of Zambian regulatory environment (especially environment, mining, trade, and customs)
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and deliver results under pressure
  • Professional appearance and high integrity
  • Based in Lusaka or willing to operate from Lusaka
  • Experience in minerals, metals, scrap trading, or recycling sectors will be an added advantage.
