Job description:
Key Responsibilities
- Participate in structured on-the-job training programs across different departments as per development plan
- Support departmental projects, operations, and daily activities
- Conduct research, data analysis, and reporting to aid decision-making
- Collaborate with senior staff and cross-functional teams to optimize operational efficiency
- Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and company policies in all assigned tasks
- Engage in continuous learning and skill development through mentorship and training sessions
- Contribute innovative ideas and solutions to improve business processes
Operational Requirements
- Understanding of mining legislation, SOPs, and operational procedures.
- Knowledge of and adherence to safety protocols and risk assessment methodologies.
- Ability to work effectively in a diverse, cross-cultural environment, fostering inclusive and respectful collaboration.
- Ability to work effectively in remote locations and diverse weather conditions, with physical agility to access various areas of mining operations as needed.
- Ability to work at a remote mining site in Zambia, requiring resilience and adaptability to operational challenges.
- Must be comfortable to travel across the First Quantum Minerals (FQM) sites, both local and international, as and when there’s a business requirement

Experience
- No prior experience required, but any internship or practical experience in mining operations will be advantageous.

- Good verbal and written communications skills
- Computer literate in Microsoft office suit and Artificial Intelligent
- Skills in managing projects, including planning, execution, and reporting.
- Ability to tackle practical, production-oriented problems through mini-projects.
Qualifications
Must hold a bachelor’s degree in any of the following relevant fields:
- Mining Engineering
- Geo-science related disciplines
- Geo-metallurgy
- Environmental Sciences
- Mechanical & Electrical Engineering
- Environmental Engineering, Civil Engineering
- Process Engineering
- Industrial Engineering, Law, Commerce, Supply Chain or Economics
- Safety Engineering
- Business Administration, Human Resource Management, Social Sciences.
