About the Role: Graduate Civil Engineer Jobs in Chibombo

As a Graduate Civil Engineer with Empire Cote Limited, you will play a vital role in overseeing road maintenance activities on site. Your responsibilities will include supervising construction progress, ensuring compliance with approved drawings and methodologies, and maintaining quality control throughout the project lifecycle. This position demands a proactive approach to monitoring workmanship, coordinating with multiple stakeholders, and upholding health, safety, and environmental standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and monitor road maintenance works directly on site.
  • Ensure all activities comply with approved drawings, specifications, and methodologies.
  • Track construction progress and quality standards consistently.
  • Prepare detailed daily site reports and maintain accurate records.
  • Coordinate effectively with contractors, workers, consultants, and project personnel.
  • Monitor materials and workmanship to confirm adherence to project requirements.
  • Identify, document, and escalate technical or site-related issues promptly.
  • Support measurements, inspections, and documentation of completed works.
  • Ensure strict compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from a recognised institution.
  • Relevant experience in road construction, road maintenance, site supervision, or related civil engineering fields.
  • Hands-on experience in supervising or monitoring road maintenance projects is advantageous.
  • Solid understanding of construction methods, site supervision, and quality control processes.
  • Strong communication skills, including report writing.
  • Ability to work efficiently both independently on site and collaboratively within a team.
  • Willingness to operate in field-based environments.

Location and Employment Details

Preference will be given to candidates based in Chibombo or Mumbwa Districts, although applicants from Lusaka may also be considered. This is a full-time contract position focused on road maintenance supervision.
