Background

Grinders/Metal Finishers are responsible for using various tools to achieve required surface finishes on metal parts, preparing them for further fabrication or finishing.

Responsibilities

• Surface Finishing and Material Removal: Set up and operate grinding equipment to cut, finish, and prepare work surfaces to specified standards. Grind parts according to print specifications and remove any surface imperfections or cosmetic defects.
• Blueprint Reading and Layout: Interpret blueprints, drawings, and measurements to plan layouts. Lay out component locations per instructions before beginning grinding work.
• Workspace Maintenance and Safety: Complete housekeeping duties to maintain a clean and organized work area. Comply with all safety and company policies and properly log time into the system.
