ABOUT THE ROLE

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Occupational Health & Safety Officer to join our HR & Administration team. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring a safe, compliant, and health-conscious working environment across all operations. This role involves developing safety systems, enforcing compliance, conducting risk assessments, and promoting a strong safety culture.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop, implement, and continuously improve Occupational Health & Safety (OHS) policies and procedures.
  • Provide guidance on workplace safety issues including machinery use, hazardous materials, and environmental risks.
  • Conduct regular risk assessments and implement preventative safety measures.
  • Ensure compliance with occupational health and safety legislation and company standards.
  • Organize and deliver safety training programs for employees and management.
  • Conduct routine workplace inspections to identify hazards and non-compliance issues.
  • Monitor use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and enforce safety standards.
  • Oversee safe handling, storage, and disposal of materials and equipment.
  • Investigate workplace incidents, accidents, and near-misses and prepare detailed reports.
  • Maintain accurate safety records and provide statistical reports to management.
  • Stop and report unsafe acts or processes immediately when identified.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • Diploma or Degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Health, or related field.
  • NEBOSH, IOSH, or equivalent certification is an added advantage.
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in a safety-related role (preferred).
  • Strong understanding of occupational health and safety regulations.
  • Excellent communication and training skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving ability.
  • Ability to work independently and handle pressure.

  • Safety training and awareness creation
  • Strong enforcement and leadership skills
  • Analytical thinking and report writing
