Nestled along the sweeping banks of the majestic Kafue River, Anantara Kafue River Lodge invites you to be part of an extraordinary safari destination set in one of Africa’s last truly untouched wilderness regions.We are looking for a dedicated, detail‑oriented, and highly organized Housekeeping Supervisor to lead our housekeeping team. The ideal candidate will ensure that all guest rooms, public areas, and staff facilities are maintained to the highest standards of cleanliness, presentation, and hygiene.
Job Description
- Conducts routine inspections of all Housekeeping areas, with other supervisory personnel.
- Ensure that all public, guest-facing and back of house areas of the hotel are properly cleaned at all times.
- Ensure health & safety requirements are adhered to.
- Ensure records are maintained for linen inventory, uniforms, and other items as applicable.
- Ensure that lost and found articles are stored properly and that the correct logs are maintained.
- Ensure that par levels of linen, towels and uniforms are current, and in line with inventory.
- Complete guest supply inventory each period end.
- Develop and maintain a motivational working environment within the department and positive relations with other departments.
- Train staff to become multi skilled in all facets of housekeeping and associate departments.
- Initiate measures to minimize all wastage of materials and amenities are used in the department.
- Ensure that proper key controls are in place.
- Coordinate team schedules, daily task assignments, and workload distribution
- Oversee laundry operations in collaboration with the Laundry Supervisor
- Monitor inventory of linen, guest supplies, cleaning products, and equipment
- Ensure proper handling and reporting of lost & found items
- Maintain strict compliance with health, safety, and sanitation standards
- Work closely with Front Office and Maintenance teams to resolve room‑related issues
- Support VIP room preparations and special requests
Qualifications
- Minimum 2–3 years housekeeping experience in a hotel, lodge, or resort
- Diploma/Certificate in Hotel management
- Full grade 12 certificate
- Previous supervisory or team‑leader experience strongly preferred
- Strong understanding of cleaning procedures, equipment, and sanitation standards
- Excellent organizational, communication, and time‑management skills
- Ability to train, lead, and motivate staff effectively
- Experience in luxury safari camps or remote environments is an advantage
