About the Role: HSE Manager Jobs in Zambia
As the HSE Manager at WINCO Industry Zambia, you will be responsible for overseeing the company’s health, safety, and environmental programs to ensure operational excellence and regulatory adherence across all sites. This full-time role requires a proactive leader who can foster a culture of safety and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and refine comprehensive HSE management systems tailored to company operations.
- Ensure strict compliance with applicable health, safety, and environmental laws and regulations.
- Conduct thorough hazard identification and risk assessments to mitigate workplace risks.
- Design and enforce effective risk control measures to safeguard employees and assets.
- Lead investigations into incidents, performing root cause analyses and establishing corrective actions.
- Organize and facilitate safety training, awareness campaigns, and emergency preparedness drills.
- Promote appropriate use of personal protective equipment (PPE) among all personnel.
- Carry out internal HSE audits and oversee contractor health and safety compliance.
- Manage permit-to-work systems to control hazardous activities.
- Monitor HSE performance metrics and prepare detailed compliance reports for senior management.
- Provide strategic recommendations to leadership to enhance health and safety outcomes.
Candidate Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Professional certification such as NEBOSH, IOSH, or an equivalent qualification.
- Between 5 and 7 years of experience in an HSE management or supervisory capacity.
- Prior exposure to industrial, manufacturing, or construction settings is preferred.
- Comprehensive knowledge of HSE legislation, risk management, and emergency response protocols.
- Proven understanding of regulatory compliance requirements.
- Strong leadership capabilities coupled with excellent communication skills.
- Effective stakeholder management and problem-solving aptitude.
