About the Project

China Civil Engineering Construction Corporation (CCECC) is implementing the TAZARA Rehabilitation Project in Mpika, Zambia. We are seeking a qualified, motivated, and experienced Human Resource Officer to join our project team and support the effective management of human resources in a dynamic construction environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate recruitment, selection, onboarding, and induction of project employees.
  • Maintain accurate employee records and ensure compliance with company policies and Zambian labour laws.
  • Process employment contracts, staff movements, and employee documentation.
  • Monitor employee attendance, leave administration, and disciplinary procedures.
  • Support payroll preparation by maintaining accurate HR records and timesheets.
  • Facilitate staff training, performance management, and employee development initiatives.
  • Promote positive employee relations and resolve workplace grievances professionally.
  • Ensure compliance with occupational health and safety requirements related to human resource management.
  • Prepare HR reports and maintain confidential personnel records.
  • Liaise with government agencies and other relevant stakeholders on labour and employment matters as required.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Professional membership with the Zambia Institute of Human Resource Management (ZIHRM).
  • Minimum of 3 years' relevant HR experience, preferably in the construction, engineering, or infrastructure sector.
  • Good knowledge of the Zambian Employment Code Act and other applicable labour legislation.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and under pressure in a fast-paced project environment.
  • High level of integrity and ability to maintain confidentiality.
