Background

To provide strategic leadership and management of the Human Resource function, ensuring effective implementation of HR policies, systems, and practices that support organizational goals, promote a high-performance culture, and ensure compliance with Zambian labour laws.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement HR strategies and initiatives aligned with the company’s vision and operational objectives.
  • Oversee the full scope of HR functions including recruitment, onboarding, performance management, employee relations, and succession planning.
  • Ensure compliance with employment legislation and company policies.
  • Lead and support disciplinary and grievance procedures in accordance with labour laws and company standards.
  • Provide HR analytics and reports to management for strategic decision-making.
  • Maintain effective communication and employee relations across all departments
  • Ensure accurate HR data management, payroll and workforce planning.
  • Foster a culture of safety, accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Diploma or Degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years’ proven experience in a HR management role, preferably in the mining or heavy industrial sector.
  • Full membership with the Zambia Institute of Human Resource Management (ZIHRM) is compulsory.
  • Strong knowledge of Zambian labour laws and employment regulations.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with multi-cultural teams.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
