Background
A reputable Coal Mining Company is inviting applications from suitably qualified and experienced individuals to fill the Position of Human Resource Officer.
Job Purpose
Responsible for Human Resources department in implementing HR policies, managing employee relations, ensuring compliance with labour laws, and promoting an efficient and productive workforce within the mining operations.
Main duties and responsibilities
- Administer recruitment and selection processes for mine and support staff.
- Maintain and update employee records and HR databases.
- Support payroll preparation by providing relevant employee information.
- Ensuring that all statutory payroll-based obligations are up to date
- Ensure that all statutory obligations and
- Ensure compliance with company policies and labour regulations.
- Assist in handling disciplinary procedures, grievances, and employee relations matters.
- Coordinate staff training and development programs when need arises
- Monitor attendance, leave records, and employee welfare.
- Assist in implementing performance management systems.
- Liaise with statutory bodies and ensure compliance with employment legislation.
Minimum Requirements
- Diploma in Human Resource Management.
- Minimum of 3 years’ HR experience, preferably in the mining or industrial sector.
- Good knowledge of Zambian Labour Laws and Industrial Relations.
- Member of the Zambia Institute of Human Resource Management (ZIHRM).
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- High level of integrity and confidentiality.
- Proficiency in MS Office applications.

- Conflict resolution and negotiation skills
- Ability to work under pressure in a demanding environment
- Able to work in a multi racial environment
- Attention to detail
