Key duties and responsibilities:
- Maintain accurate HR records for the Head Office and site‑based staff (contracts, personal files, medicals, inductions, training, licences, leave & disciplinary records).
- Coordinate recruitment for both office and site positions, prepare job adverts, shortlist candidates, organize interviews, reference checks and offer letters.
- Support onboarding and induction of new employees, including arranging medicals, safety inductions, mine passes/ID cards and contract signing.
- Administer attendance, shift schedules and leave for staff rotating between Lusaka and different mine/project sites; prepare HR inputs for payroll.
- Ensure HR practices comply with the Zambian Labour Code, Mines and Minerals legislation, health and safety requirements and internal company policies.
- Serve as a first contact point for employee queries and grievances; support line managers in handling disciplinary issues and performance concerns in a fair and consistent manner.
- Support performance management processes, including performance appraisals, probation reviews and performance improvement plans.
- Coordinate staff training and development (safety training, technical courses, supervisory skills), and maintain up‑to‑date training and competency records.
- Assist with HR reporting for management (headcount, staff movements, turnover, leave balances, recruitment status, gender and localisation statistics).
- Liaise with site administrators/camp managers to ensure proper implementation of HR policies at all project sites (rotations, codes of conduct, welfare, accommodation).
- Maintain strict confidentiality of HR information and ensure proper filing (hard copy and electronic).
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree or Diploma or Degree in Human Resource Management, Public Administration or related field.
- 3–5 years’ experience in HR with preferred experience working in the mining sector.
- ZIHRM membership or eligibility for membership is an added advantage.
- Good working knowledge of Zambian labour laws and basic understanding of mining/site‑based work environments.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work with multi‑disciplinary teams.
- High level of integrity, confidentiality and strong attention to detail.
- Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and basic HR or payroll systems.
Additional Details:
Remuneration will be based on the candidate’s experience and competency as per requirements in the JD.
All other company terms and conditions will be discussed during the interview of the selected shortlisted candidates.
