VACANCY: ICT Assistant Manager

Educore is seeking a suitably qualified, experienced and highly motivated ICT Assistant Manager to support the delivery of ICT services, strategy and digital transformation across the Educore Group. The successful candidate will work closely with the ICT Manager in providing leadership, technical direction and operational oversight across the organisation’s schools and support functions.

Main Purpose of the Job

The ICT Assistant Manager supports the ICT Manager in leading and developing Educore’s ICT function in line with the organisation’s strategic vision and operational requirements. The role will provide leadership across ICT systems, infrastructure, cybersecurity and service delivery, while contributing to strategic planning, innovation and continuous improvement.

The successful candidate will be a key member of the ICT leadership team, able to contribute independently, challenge existing approaches and provide continuity of leadership and decision-making in the absence of the ICT Manager.

Qualifications Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, Information Systems or related field.
  • Relevant professional ICT certifications will be an added advantage.
  • Minimum five years’ relevant experience in ICT, including experience in a senior technical, supervisory or management role.
  • Experience supporting multiple sites or a distributed organisation will be an added advantage.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the development and implementation of Educore’s ICT strategy and long-term vision.
  • Provide leadership and oversight across ICT systems, infrastructure, cybersecurity and service delivery.
  • Lead and support ICT projects, system implementations and improvement initiatives.
  • Work with Senior Management and other stakeholders to identify opportunities for innovation and digital transformation.
  • Support the development and performance of the ICT team.
  • Oversee and develop the annual ICT internship and skills development programme.
  • Identify ICT risks, weaknesses and opportunities for improvement.
  • Act on behalf of the ICT Manager when required and provide continuity of ICT leadership.

Although primarily based in Solwezi, the successful candidate will travel between Educore schools and operations across Zambia.

  • Strong leadership, communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Strategic and analytical thinker with the ability to translate ideas into practical solutions.
  • Broad understanding of ICT infrastructure, information systems, cybersecurity and cloud technologies.
  • Ability to manage projects, priorities and ICT operations across multiple locations.
  • Confidence to contribute independently and constructively challenge ideas and decisions.
  • High level of professionalism, integrity and accountability.
  • Support the development and implementation of Educore’s ICT strategy and long-term vision.
