Position Summary

Lelesha Lodge is seeking a hardworking, reliable, and organized Kitchen Hand to support kitchen operations and assist the culinary team in maintaining a clean, efficient, and hygienic working environment. The Kitchen Hand will assist with food preparation, dishwashing, cleaning, stock handling, and general kitchen support duties.

The ideal candidate should be able to work well in a fast-paced hospitality environment and demonstrate a positive attitude and willingness to learn.

Key Responsibilities

Kitchen Support

  • Assist chefs and cooks with basic food preparation tasks.
  • Wash, peel, chop, and prepare ingredients as instructed.
  • Ensure food items are stored correctly and safely.
  • Assist in receiving and organizing kitchen supplies and deliveries.
  • Support smooth daily kitchen operations.

Cleaning & Hygiene

  • Wash dishes, utensils, pots, pans, and kitchen equipment.
  • Maintain cleanliness of kitchen surfaces, floors, storage areas, and workstations.
  • Dispose of waste and maintain proper sanitation procedures.
  • Follow all food safety, hygiene, and health regulations.
  • Ensure cleaning equipment and supplies are properly maintained.

Stock & Organization

  • Organize kitchen storage areas and supplies.
  • Monitor stock levels of cleaning materials and kitchen supplies.
  • Assist with stock rotation and proper labeling of food items.
  • Report shortages or damaged supplies to supervisors.

Teamwork & Professionalism

  • Work cooperatively with chefs, kitchen staff, and lodge employees.
  • Follow instructions efficiently and maintain a positive attitude.
  • Assist during busy periods and special lodge events when required.
  • Contribute to maintaining a safe and productive work environment.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Previous kitchen or hospitality experience is an advantage but not required.
  • Basic understanding of food safety and hygiene practices.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Physically fit and able to stand for extended periods.
  • Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team.
  • Good time-management and organizational skills.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
