Background information about the job or company:

As a laundry attendant, you will be responsible for ensuring the cleanliness and proper handling of linens, and other items in our laundry facility.

Responsibilities:

• Sort, separate, and load laundry items according to color and fabric type.
• Operating industrial laundry equipment such as washing machines, dryers, and ironing presses.
• Add detergent, bleach, softeners, or other cleaning agents to the laundry as required.
• Monitor machine operations and adjust settings to ensure proper cleaning, rinsing, and drying of laundry items.
• Remove and inspect cleaned items for stains, or damage and report any issues to the supervisor.
• Fold and store laundered items in designated storage areas or carts.
• Maintaining cleanliness and orderliness of the laundry facility, including regularly cleaning equipment and work areas.
• Report any equipment malfunctions or maintenance needs to the supervisor.
• Follow proper safety protocols and adhere to health and sanitation guidelines.
• Assist with other tasks as assigned by the supervisor or management.

Requirements:

• Proven experience as a Laundry Attendant or in a similar role is preferred.
• Knowledge of laundry operations and equipment is an asset.
• Ability to handle and operate industrial laundry machinery and tools.
• Basic understanding of different fabric types, washing instructions, and laundry chemicals.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Ability to work independently.
• Good communications skills and ability to follow instructions.
• Flexibility to work shifts, including weekends, nights, and holidays, as required.
