About Bumara
Bumara is seeking to recruit a qualified, professional, and detail-oriented Lawyer to provide legal support and guidance to the company. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that the company operates in compliance with applicable laws and regulations, while also protecting the company’s legal interests.
Key Responsibilities
The Lawyer will be responsible for:
- Providing legal advice to management on business and operational matters.
- Drafting, reviewing, and interpreting contracts, agreements, and legal documents.
- Ensuring the company complies with relevant laws, regulations, and internal policies.
- Handling company legal correspondence and documentation.
- Representing the company in legal matters where required.
- Advising on employment, commercial, regulatory, and compliance issues.
- Managing legal risks and recommending practical solutions.
- Liaising with external lawyers, regulators, and other stakeholders when necessary.
- Maintaining proper records of legal documents and company agreements.
- Supporting dispute resolution and debt recovery matters where applicable.
Qualifications and Requirements
The ideal candidate should have:
- A Bachelor of Laws Degree from a recognized institution.
- Admission to the Zambian Bar will be an added advantage.
- A valid Practicing Certificate, where applicable.
- At least 3 years of legal experience.
- Good strong knowledge of corporate, commercial, employment, and regulatory law is a must.
- Strong drafting, negotiation, and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- High levels of integrity, confidentiality, and professionalism.
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
- Good computer and legal research skills.

- Confident and able to give sound legal advice.
