Background

MicroLoan Foundation (MLF) Zambia is a microfinance institution whose mission is to help poor Zambian women entrepreneurs work their way out of poverty.

It achieves this mandate by providing small loans, trainings and savings facilitation.

The Loan Officer Trainee will report to the Branch Head.

Core duties:

Responsibilities

  • Work hand in hand with the assigned Loan Officer and learn how to identify appropriate clients.
  • Work hand in hand with the assigned Loan Officer to learn and observe Centre Management procedures.
  • After a minimum of two (2) months of training, work as a Relief Loan Officer to cover for Loan Officers who are unavailable in the branch.
  • To support a Loan Officer, meet target, conduct a centre meeting, and follow up on arrears when required.
  • During the training period, trainees without rider’s licence will be required to learn how to ride and obtain rider’s license.
  • Learn how to establish, train and monitor credit groups for successful loan application and repayment.
  • Learn the preparation of loan requests and disbursement of loans according to MLF procedures and policies.
  • Learn how to compile end of day reports and preparation of weekly activities planner.
  • Any other duties as assigned by the Branch Head

Minimum Requirements

Qualifications

  • Must have a full Grade 12 certificate with Credits or better in Mathematics and English.
  • Must possess good communication skills.
  • Must have good interpersonal skills.
  • Must be willing to learn how to ride a motor bike
  • Below 30 years of age.
  • Work hand in hand with the assigned Loan Officer and learn how to identify appropriate clients.
