The Livingstone Institute of Business and Engineering Studies (LIBES) is a Government institution under the Ministry of Technology and Science, established under Statutory Instrument No. 7 of 2003 in accordance with the Technical Education, Vocational and Entrepreneurship Training Act of 1998.
The Institute is located at Plot No. 2621, Nakatindi Road, Livingstone.
LIBES invites applications from suitably qualified, motivated, and experienced Zambian nationals to fill the following vacant position:
MAINTENANCE SUPERVISOR (01)
Reporting to: Human Resource Manager
Purpose of the Role
To oversee maintenance of institutional infrastructure, equipment, and utilities, ensuring a safe, functional and well-maintained environment
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate routine and corrective maintenance of buildings, equipment, utilities, grounds and institutional facilities
- Develop, implement, and monitor preventive maintenance schedules to minimise breakdowns and extend asset lifespan
- Supervise maintenance staff and coordinate the work of external contractors and service providers
- Ensure compliance with health, safety and environmental standards
- Inspect facilities regularly and promptly address maintenance issues and risks
- Prepare maintenance work plans, budgets and periodic technical reports
- Maintain records of maintenance activities, assets and equipment status
Qualifications and Experience
- Diploma in Electrical, Mechanical, Civil Engineering, or Building Technology
- Minimum of two (2) years’ relevant hands-on experience
- Demonstrated technical competence with strong organisational and supervisory skills
Note: All qualifications must be certified by the Zambia Qualifications Authority (ZQA).
