Job Title:
Manager – Digital Transformation & Business Technology
Reports to:
Chief Information Technology Officer
Location:
Lusaka, Zambia
Job Purpose & Scope:
Key: Change, Business Enablement, Innovation
Responsible for the modernization of the Business Operations. They bridge the gap between IT and core business functions, through leading in the deployment of technologies like business systems, AI, automation, mobile applications to boost efficiency, enhance user experience, and drive strategic growth.
Principle Accountabilities for this role include (but not limited to):
1. Technology Implementation: Integrating digital tools (e.g., Mobile apps, AI, enterprise platforms) into business processes to increase efficiency and productivity.
- Leading in the deployment of business systems, applications, and digital platforms
- Lead the modernization of business processes and operating models in line with Group standards
- Identify and champion digital innovation opportunities (AI, automation, mobile platforms).
- Drive technology adoption across departments of the business to improve productivity and competitiveness.
- Business process digitization (Agency, Bancassurance, Claims etc.)
- Maintain and regularly review the company’s key technology policies, processes and procedures and provide recommendations on process efficiencies.
2.Business/enterprise Systems Development and Deployment
- Ensuring that Prudential Software Development Standards are embedded in all business systems development and deployment processes
- Work closely with Software development teams
- Provide Quality Assurance of Developed application
- Ensure SDLC process is followed
3.Technology Solutions Security management
- Assessment of all technology security risks in business technology solutions
- Ensure accurate and complete reporting of technology security risks and events during implementation of various solutions
- Embedding security best practices in all Business Systems development and Digital Tools deployment processes
4.Project Management
- Participation in the preparation of Business cases for various Business Systems projects
- End to end tracking of business and digital solutions projects
- Preparation of various reports at different stages of technology solutions projects
5.Stakeholder Engagement
Governance
- Work with various teams to transform requirements into deliverables.
- Work with stakeholders to identify required changes.
- Ensure effective change management for involved business units.
- Ensure Issues are identified, tracked, reported on and resolved in a timely manner.
- Collaborate with test managers on associated testing efforts
6. People
- Managing a team of developers, solutions architects and DBAs
Core Competencies Required:
- In depth knowledge of modern systems, apps, programming languages and tools
- Deep understanding of modern technology platforms (AI, blockchain, cloud etc)
- Sound knowledge of systems development cycles
- Knowledge of integration tools and methodologies (APIs etc)
- Change Management
- Project Management skills
- Communication (written and verbal) skills
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or related field
- Minimum 3 years work experience in similar responsibilities
