Nkana Water Supply and Sanitation Company is a Commercial Water Utility providing quality water and sanitation services to its customers in Kitwe, Kalulushi, Chambishi and Luanshya. In its quest to improve service delivery, the Company seeks to employ suitable, highly motivated and goal-oriented professionals to fill the following vacancies:
Manager – Maintenance (x01)
1.0 Job Purpose
To manage the maintenance of mechanical and electrical water and sanitation plant and equipment in order to optimize their function and prolong their lifespan.
2.0 Job Accountabilities
- To manage effectively development and implementation of maintenance manuals and procedures in order to guide the operations of the section.
- To manage effectively the design, installation, maintenance and repair of mechanical equipment in order to ensure they function efficiently and safely.
- To manage effectively the design, installation and maintenance and repair of electrical and instrumentation equipment in order to ensure that they function efficiently and safely.
- To manage effectively the development and implementation of maintenance plans and strategy in order to ensure timely and coordinated maintenance works.
- To manage effectively the provision of technical support in order to facilitate successful implementation of projects.
- To manage effectively the planning of maintenance works and material requirements in order to ensure timely maintenance and repair of plant and equipment.
- To manage effectively the development of energy-efficient strategy, collection and analysis of energy consumption data in order to develop and implement appropriate interventions.
- To ensure regularly the maintenance and updating of documentation and technical specification in order to facilitate maintenance works.
- To manage timely implementations of performance management systems in order to monitor and evaluate performance and ensure attainment of section objectives.
- To manage effectively the utilization of human, financial and material resources in order to ensure attainment of section objectives.
- To create and implement maintenance strategies and procedures in order to minimize equipment downtime and operational disruptions.
- To supervise and manage a team of maintenance professionals to ensure efficient and compliant maintenance activities.
- To regularly inspect and audit facilities and equipment to identify areas for improvement and compliance with health and safety regulations.
- To manage maintenance-related budgets to ensure cost efficiency, while maintaining high standards of equipment and facility upkeep.
- To liaise with external contractors and suppliers to acquire high-quality services and materials for maintenance projects.
- To implement continuous improvement initiatives that enhance maintenance procedures and reduce costs.
3.0 Qualifications and Experience
- Full Form V/Grade 12 School Certificate with at least five (05) credits including English and Mathematics.
- Bachelor of Engineering in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
- Fully paid up member of the Engineering Institution of Zambia.
- 8 years with 2 years at management level.
4.0 Skills, Knowledge and Other Attributes
- Must have leadership, interpersonal, problem solving, team building and analytical skills.
- Must be of high integrity.
- Must have knowledge of Engineering Software.
