The Marketing Officer is responsible for developing and implementing marketing strategies to promote the hospital's services, enhance its public image, and attract new patients. This role involves planning and executing marketing campaigns, managing social media platforms, and collaborating with other departments to ensure consistent messaging.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Marketing Strategy Development:
- Assist in the development and implementation of comprehensive marketing plans and strategies to achieve the hospital's goals.
- Conduct market research to identify target audiences, trends, and opportunities.
2. Campaign Management:
- Plan, execute, and monitor marketing campaigns across various channels, including digital, print, and social media.
- Create and manage content for marketing materials, such as brochures, newsletters, advertisements, and social media posts.
3. Brand Management:
- Ensure consistent branding and messaging across all marketing materials and communications.
- Develop and maintain a strong brand presence in the community and online.
4. Social Media and Digital Marketing:
- Manage the hospital’s social media accounts, including content creation, posting, and engagement.
- Implement digital marketing strategies, such as search engine optimization (SEO), pay-per-click (PPC) advertising, and email marketing.
5. Public Relations:
- Develop and maintain relationships with media outlets, community organizations, and stakeholders.
- Write and distribute press releases, coordinate media events, and handle media inquiries.
6. Event Planning and Coordination:
- Plan and coordinate marketing events, such as health fairs, open houses, and community outreach programs.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure successful execution of events.
7. Analytics and Reporting:
- Monitor and analyze the performance of marketing campaigns and initiatives.
- Prepare reports on marketing activities, results, and recommendations for improvement.
8. Compliance and Security
- Regulatory compliance: Ensure all marketing activities comply with hospital policies, procedures, and applicable healthcare laws and regulations (e.g., HPCZ, Data Protection Acts).
- Risk awareness: Identify and mitigate potential compliance risks in campaigns, communications, and partnerships.
- Ethical standards: Uphold integrity and transparency in all marketing practices to maintain trust with patients, stakeholders, and the community.
9. Collaboration and Teamwork:
- Work closely with the Marketing Manager, other marketing team members, and internal departments to achieve marketing objectives.
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to brainstorming sessions.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Previous experience in marketing, preferably in the health care sector.
- Strong understanding of marketing principles, strategies, and tools.
- Excellent communication, writing, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency with marketing software and tools, such as social media platforms, content management systems (CMS), and analytics tools.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Registered and licenced by Zambia Institute of Marketing.
