In line with our corporate priorities aimed at ensuring optimization of revenue collection and increased tax compliance on one hand and the need to effectively manage the numerous challenges and opportunities in the fast-changing business environment on the other, we are seeking highly motivated, result-oriented, well-qualified and experienced professionals to fill the following vacant position:
Responsibilities or duties
A. PURPOSE
Reporting directly to the Head Mechanic the job holder will be responsible for effectively maintaining the ZRA fleet by providing cost-effective guidance in the maintenance process and ensuring that services done on the fleet meet the performance standards as required by the Authority.
B. MAIN DUTIES/ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Diagnosing faults on defective motor vehicles.
- Repair motor vehicles when ever need arises from both local and outer stations.
- Ensure contracted garages carry out works according to the instructions.
- Carry out pre- and post-inspections on motor vehicles.
- Collects motor vehicle repair estimates and quotations from contracted garages and forwards them to the head mechanic.
- Recover broken down vehicles from various ZRA stations in order that repairs can be carried out.
- Provide reports on fleet maintenance and repair to the head mechanic as / and when need arises.
- Carry out any other work assigned by the head mechanic/Directly coordinate and monitor the daily deployment and performance of hired Security guards in the residences for senior members of management.
Qualifications or requirements (e.g., education, skills)
C. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- Grade 12 school Certificate or General Certificate of Education (GCE) or equivalent;
- Craft Certificate in Motor Vehicle Mechanics or Motor Vehicle Technicians Certificate level 2 from a recognized trades training institute or college;
- Knowledge in both Diesel and petrol engines;
- Minimum of class C, SADC driver’s license.
Experience needed
Three (03) years relevant post-qualifying work experience; and
Any other provided details (e.g., benefits, work environment, team info, or additional notes)
D. OTHER SKILLS AND ATTRIBUTES
- Personal organisation.
- Honesty.
- Self-motivated.
- Good analytical skills.
- Interpersonal skills.
- Good oral and written communication.
