1. Job Purpose

To achieve territory sales targets and market share growth by promoting the company’s pharmaceutical portfolio to healthcare professionals (HCPs). The role focuses on building scientific credibility and ensuring that the right patients have access to our medications through informed prescribing.

2. Key Responsibilities

  • Clinical Detailing: Conduct a target number of daily face-to-face meetings (typically 10–12 calls a day) with doctors, pharmacists, and specialists to discuss drug efficacy, safety, and clinical trial data.
  • Territory Management: Develop and implement a "Territory Business Plan" to prioritize high-potential clinics, hospitals, and pharmacies.
  • KOL Engagement: Identify and build professional relationships with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs)—influential physicians who shape local clinical guidelines.
  • CME Organization: Plan and execute Continuous Medical Education (CME) sessions and round-table discussions for hospital departments.
  • Market Intelligence: Monitor competitor activities, pricing shifts, and new product launches, providing weekly reports to management.
  • Availability Tracking: Coordinate with distributors and "Stockists" to ensure that products are physically available in pharmacies once a demand is created.

3. Academic & Professional Requirements

  • Education: Diploma in Clinical Medicine, Biomedical Sciences, or a related field (Natural Science accompanied by a strong scientific aptitude).
  • Licensure: Must be registered with the relevant professional body (e.g., Health Professions Council of Zambia or similar) where applicable.
  • Skills: * Strong negotiation and "closing" techniques.
  • Ability to interpret and present complex biostatistical data.
