As the Metal Fabrication Engineer and Production Manager, you will oversee all metal fabrication activities within the workshop. Your leadership will be critical in supervising fabrication staff, maintaining stringent quality standards, and ensuring projects are completed accurately and on schedule. You will spearhead research and development initiatives, transforming innovative product ideas into practical designs and prototypes ready for production and market introduction.

Your responsibilities will include enhancing existing products and fabrication methods to boost quality and competitiveness. You will also manage material requisitions, monitor usage to reduce waste, and verify sales orders to confirm specifications and quantities before production commencement. Collaboration with Sales, Procurement, and Production teams will be essential to ensure seamless operations and adherence to approved designs and quality standards. Identifying and implementing improvements to increase production efficiency and profitability will be a key aspect of your role.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure quality control, accuracy, and timely completion of fabrication projects.

• Convert product concepts into functional designs and prototypes for testing and production.
• Prepare and issue material requisitions to meet production needs efficiently.
• Monitor material consumption to minimize waste and reduce production costs.
• Review and verify sales orders for accuracy before production begins.
• Collaborate closely with Sales, Procurement, and Production departments to ensure smooth workflow.
• Maintain compliance with approved designs, specifications, and quality standards throughout production.

Qualifications and Experience

• Full Grade 12 certificate.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Metal Fabrication Engineering from a reputable institution.
• Minimum of 5 years’ relevant experience in metal fabrication engineering and production management.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with professional fluency in English.
• Strong relationship management and leadership abilities.
