Background

MIG Welders are responsible for operating manual or semi-automatic welding equipment to fuse metal segments using the Metal Inert Gas (MIG) welding process .

Responsibilities

Operate manual or semi-automatic welding equipment to fuse metal segments, ensuring strong and precise joints . Weld both ferrous and non-ferrous metals as required . Repair worn parts of metal products by welding on extra layers . Read and interpret blueprints or welding process specifications to determine the correct methods and materials for each job . Examine completed welds to ensure they meet all required standards and specifications . Adjust welding equipment as needed to produce high-quality results .
