ABOUT LDWDA & THE YEE PROJECT

Lundazi District Women Development Association (LDWDA) is the implementing partner for the Youth Employment and Entrepreneurship (YEE) Project in three districts — Chasefu, Lundazi, and Lumezi. The project is funded by donors through SNV Netherlands Development Organisation, which channels support to LDWDA to deliver the project on the ground. LDWDA targets 3,800 youths across the three districts, with a 50% gender balance criterion, to create sustainable economic opportunities in rural Zambia.

ROLE OVERVIEW

The M&E Officer will be responsible for tracking, documenting, and reporting on project outputs and outcomes across all three districts. The role requires frequent field travel and direct engagement with youth beneficiaries, community groups, and project staff.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Design and maintain monitoring systems, tools, and databases for the YEE Project across all three districts
  • Conduct regular field monitoring visits to Chasefu, Lundazi, and Lumezi to collect and verify data
  • Track project targets including the 3,800 youth target and 50% gender balance criterion
  • Compile and submit accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual M&E reports to the Project manager and SNV
  • Ensure data quality and consistency through regular data audits and verification exercises
  • Document success stories, lessons learned, and best practices from the field
  • Build the capacity of field staff and community volunteers in data collection
  • Maintain an organised filing system for all project M&E records and documentation

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

  • Minimum of a Diploma in Monitoring & Evaluation, Development Studies, Statistics, Social Sciences, or a related field
  • Experience in M&E or data management in a development or NGO setting is an advantage
  • Proficiency in data collection tools and basic data analysis (Excel or equivalent)
  • Strong report writing and communication skills in English
  • Ability and willingness to work across three districts (Chasefu, Lundazi, and Lumezi)
  • Knowledge of gender-responsive programming is an added advantage

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENT

A valid motor rider’s licence is an added advantage for this position. Field travel across three districts is a core part of the role.

WHAT WE OFFER

  • A meaningful role contributing directly to youth economic empowerment in rural Zambia
  • Opportunity to work with a dedicated, women-led organisation and a reputable international partner (SNV)
  • 7-month contract with field allowances applicable

LDWDA is an equal opportunity organisation. Women from Chasefu, Lundazi, and Lumezi districts are strongly encouraged to apply.
