Backfilling Engineer (x1)
Job brief
We are looking for a Backfilling Engineer to plan, organize, coordinate, and Monitor all the activities of Paste Backfilling to Underground, tailing disposal to the tailing dam and Pumping of circulation water to the Concentrator plant and Backfilling plant of SEOR (South East Ore Body).

Key Responsibilities

• To Plan, organize and monitoring all processes of Paste Backfilling.
• To carry out tailings disposal by pumping tailings to the tailing dam.
• To pump circulation water to Concentrator /Backfilling for production.
• To act as a link between Operations team and Management team to make backfilling plant available for Production.
• To utilize consumables and spares cost effectively (e.g. flocculants, Cement, spares/tools).
• To direct, monitor, and develop subordinates in accordance the Backfilling processes requirements and Disciplinary code.
• To enforce Mining Regulations and company standard operating and Maintenance procedures on subordinates staff.
• To communicate plant status (Safety, Production & Maintenance), to superior colleagues and subordinates effectively.
• Perform any other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Full Grade 12 School certificate.
• University degree in Metallurgy/Chemical Engineering from an accredited institution.
• Member of the Engineering Institution of Zambia (EIZ).
• Minimum 3 years’ experience preferably in the mining sector.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Excellent analytical and time management skills.
• Keen attention to detail.

Ventilation Technician (x2)
Key Responsibilities
The Responsibilities of this role will include but not limited to the following:

• Planning and designing short, medium and long-term ventilation and firefighting systems.
• Supervising installation and maintenance of ventilation systems.
• Reducing intake temperatures in workplaces to conducive satisfaction levels.
• Drafting ventilation and fan layouts to meet Standard Ventilation Best Practice.
• Regularly monitor and analyze air quality data, including gas concentrations, temperature, humidity, and airflow, to ensure compliance with safety regulations.
• Participating in the development and implementation of emergency ventilation plans and procedures for use in the event of mine emergencies, such as fires or gas leaks.
• Ensuring reports are comprehensive and appropriate recommendations are made to address hazards and improve conditions.
• Maintain schedules to ensure all work areas and stations are inspected and assessed in accordance with Mining Regulations.
• Adhering to all other assignments that are lawful and fair.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Full Grade 12 School certificate.
• Diploma in Mine Ventilation.
• Knowledge of Mining Regulations of Zambia in relation to mine ventilation.
• First Aid.
• Member of EIZ.
• Minimum 3 years’ work experience preferably in the mining sector.
• Keen attention to detail.

LHD Operator (x5)
Job purpose
He/she will be required to adhere to all relevant requirements such as observing stipulated safety codes at all times. The job will involve lashing development ends and stopes, hauling ore, or waste materials to underground assigned areas. The operator is expected to load Trucks and keep all roads in working areas clean and free from potential hazards.

Key Responsibilities

• A sound understanding of pertinent safety standards related to operation of large equipment.
• Ability to meet targets given.
• Sharp decision-making skills, particularly when under pressure.
• Able to follow the prescribed safety regulations and take action to prevent any unsafe actions.
• Other duties assigned by supervisor.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Grade 12 School certificate.
• Minimum of 3 years work experience as a Loader Operator and worked on the following machines:
  • Sandvik Loaders (LH514 and LH517)
  • Scooptram ST 1030
  • Caterpillar R1600 G & H
• Valid MSD Certified Blasting License.

Boomer Operator (x5)

• Conduct pre-start inspections and ensure the machine is in good working condition.
• Accurately drill holes according to the drilling pattern.
• Conduct regular checks and maintenance on the drilling equipment.
• Follow drilling plans and ensure accurate Hole alignment.
• Adhere to safety and operational procedures (SOP).

Qualifications & Requirements

• G12 school Certificate.
• Valid Boomer Operator Certificate (Boomer 282).
• Minimum of 3 years of experience operating boomers underground.
• Valid MSD Certified Blasting License.
