Edward Meleki Ventures Limited (EMVL) is seeking expressions of interest from a qualified Nutrition & WASH Specialist for inclusion in a multidisciplinary team for an upcoming consultancy assignment in Zambia.
Key Areas of Expertise
The specialist should have demonstrated experience in:
- Nutrition-sensitive agriculture and food security
- Infant, young child and/or community nutrition
- Dietary diversity and nutrition education
- Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH)
- Food hygiene and safe food handling
- Safe and efficient water use
- Development/review of training curricula, toolkits or facilitator guides
- Community-based and participatory training approaches
- Gender, disability and social inclusion
- Behaviour change communication
- Working with schools, communities and/or vulnerable populations
Minimum Qualifications
Applicants should preferably possess:
- A Bachelors degree or equivalent advanced qualification in Nutrition, Public Health, WASH, Food Science, Agriculture, Community Development or a closely related field;
- At least 5 years of relevant professional experience;
- Demonstrated experience supporting donor-funded development programmes;
- Strong technical writing and training-material development skills;
- Experience working in the Zambian context;
- Excellent written and spoken English; and
- Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary consultancy team.
Experience developing or reviewing nutrition/WASH training materials for schools or communities will be a strong advantage.
Nature of Engagement
This will be a short-term specialist input within a broader consultancy team. The selected specialist will primarily provide technical input, content development/review and quality assurance for nutrition and WASH components of the assignment.
