Lumwana Mining Company seeks to recruit a highly committed employee for the position of Occupational Health Nurse – LEP (Fixed Term) to join the Lumwana Expansion Project Team. We are in search of an individual who can champion Barrick’s DNA by:

Responsibilities or duties
Reporting to the Medical Doctor – LEP, you will be responsible for providing high-quality care to all employees and partners as well as other stakeholders.
Your duties will include but are not limited to the following:
- Ensure administrative duties such as registering clients, entering information on electronic health record systems are done timely and correctly.
- Assist clients with completing documentation as required for the occupational health examination.
- Must demonstrate competence in effectively using the spirometer, audiometer and vision equipment and ability to understand the parameters of abnormal readings.
- Ensure all OH screening results are uploaded on the Electronic Health Records Systems and/or signed, dated, and filed in the correct client’s medical folder.
- Ensure that OH client files are complete and have necessary documentation present-like consent forms, Pré-employment, periodic and exit screening and examination, laboratory results, and any diagnostic testing, any fitness to work certificates and injury on duty reports and follow-up assessments-before being presented to the OH Doctor.
- Ensure that all follow-up visits for client assessments are carried out in a timely manner.
- Carry out otoscopic examinations prior to audiometry testing, once trained to do so.
- Continually demonstrate adherence to the Infection Control Policy.
- Any other tasks or duties assigned by the supervisor.
Qualifications or requirements
To be considered for the position, you must meet the following requirements:
- Grade 12 certificate
- Diploma in Registered Nursing
- Paid up member of the Health Professions Council of Zambia (HPCZ)
- Strong communication skills to present findings and recommendations to various audiences
- Understanding of all relevant legislation affecting the employment and safety of persons in the mining industry in Zambia
- Must have excellent written and oral communication skills in English.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Power Point, Word)
Experience needed
- Minimum Three (3) years’ working experience.
Any other provided details
Training in occupational health nursing with certificate would be an added advantage
Training in Audiometry, Spirometry, and Vision testing with appropriate certification will be an added advantage
