Overview

Our client in the retail and shopping centre industry is looking to hire an Operations Manager.

The Operations Manager is responsible for planning, organizing, and directing the activities of the Centre or property. This includes overseeing contracts, procurement of services, maintenance procedures, and ensuring facilities are well maintained and compliant with health and safety regulations. The role also involves supervising staff, managing budgets, and maintaining strong stakeholder relationships.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement operational policies, procedures, and plans.
  • Oversee day-to-day operations including tenant relations, security, maintenance, and emergency response.
  • Coordinate and manage third-party contractors, suppliers, and vendors.
  • Authorize invoices, issue tender documents, and calculate operational costs for tenant recoveries.
  • Conduct inspections of facilities and implement improvements as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and legal regulations.
  • Manage space planning to meet current and future operational requirements.
  • Develop and maintain effective business relations with vendors, contractors, and external stakeholders.
  • Supervise and train staff, conduct performance appraisals, and ensure optimal staffing levels.
  • Prepare reports on operational expenses, foot traffic, and incidents.
  • Complete special projects as assigned.

Performance Measurements

  • Effective communication and coordination across departments.
  • Compliance with procurement policies and operational standards.
  • Facilities are well maintained, secure, and cost-effective.
  • Operations are efficiently administered within budget constraints.
  • Strong business relations with external partners.
  • Staff are well trained, supervised, and performing effectively.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
  • Additional training in maintenance or property management preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in operations or property management, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication abilities.
  • Proficiency in maintenance equipment and computer applications.
