Nava Avocado is developing one of Zambia’s leading commercial avocado projects and is seeking an experienced Packhouse Technician to join our growing operations team.

This role is ideal for a hands-on mechanical and electrical professional experienced in food processing, agro-processing, or FMCG manufacturing environments. The successful candidate will play a critical role in ensuring maximum uptime, operational efficiency, and reliability of our fruit grading and packing systems.

• Maintain and repair fruit grading, sorting, and packing line equipment
• Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on conveyors, motors, gearboxes, pumps, and drive systems
• Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical faults efficiently
• Support installation and commissioning of new equipment
• Ensure all machinery meets food safety and hygiene standards
• Minimize downtime during peak harvest operations
• Maintain maintenance records and schedules

• Strong mechanical fault-finding ability
• Working knowledge of electrical control systems
• Experience with automated production or packing lines
• Ability to read technical diagrams and equipment manuals
• Experience in preventive maintenance systems

• Craft Certificate / Diploma in: Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Or related technical field
• Appropriate millwright certification
