Background

NORTH WESTERN PROVINCIAL HEALTH OFFICE (PEPFAR/CDC PROJECT)

Responsibilities

  • Ensure the implementation and continuity of antenatal and postnatal care, family planning, and PMTCT services according to MSF and national reproductive health protocols .
  • Implement the PMTCT protocol in ANC/delivery and PNC consultations, including pre-counseling, testing, and post-counseling .
  • Conduct normal deliveries independently and manage obstetric emergencies, identifying cases needing referral .
  • Properly follow up all newborn babies from delivery until discharge and inform mothers about the importance of breastfeeding and vaccination .
  • Manage sexual violence cases, including providing care and collaborating with the medical doctor .
  • Ensure the regular supply of drugs and equipment required for maternity activities and maintain rational use .
  • Supervise the use of drugs, facilities, and obstetric material according to patient numbers and prescriptions .

Qualifications

  • Relevant Grade 12 School Certificate
  • Relevant Diploma, Degree, or Professional Qualification for the position applied for
  • Valid registration and practising licence with the relevant professional body (where applicable)

Experience

Relevant work experience as specified for the position

Skills

Strong communication, analytical, interpersonal, and computer skills

ZAQA-verified academic qualifications will be an added advantage
