We are looking for passionate, dedicated, and Christ-centered Primary School Teachers who are committed to academic excellence and the holistic development of children.

Purpose of the Role

The Primary School Teacher delivers quality education, creates engaging learning experiences, supports student wellbeing, and nurtures learners academically, emotionally, spiritually, and socially.

Child Safeguarding

Family Legacy Missions Zambia is committed to safeguarding children and creating safe environments for all learners. The successful candidate will be expected to uphold the organisation's Child Protection Policy and Code of Conduct. Appointment is subject to satisfactory safeguarding checks.

Key Responsibilities

1. Student Learning and Development

  • Deliver engaging lessons aligned with the national curriculum.
  • Prepare schemes of work and lesson plans.
  • Monitor student progress through assessments and feedback.
  • Support struggling learners through appropriate interventions.
  • Promote English communication and effective learning practices.
  • Integrate social-emotional learning and Christian values into teaching.

2. Student Care and Wellbeing

  • Create a safe, supportive, and inclusive classroom environment.
  • Monitor learners’ academic, emotional, and behavioral wellbeing.
  • Listen to student concerns and provide appropriate support.
  • Encourage positive behavior and character development.
  • Promote student safety and wellbeing at all times.

3. Safeguarding and Child Protection

  • Uphold the organization’s Child Safeguarding Policy.
  • Maintain professional boundaries with learners.
  • Report safeguarding concerns promptly through established procedures.
  • Participate in safeguarding and child protection training.
  • Contribute to a culture where children feel safe, respected, and valued.

4. Classroom Management

  • Maintain orderly, positive, and productive classrooms.
  • Enforce the student code of conduct fairly and consistently.
  • Keep accurate attendance, assessment, and behavior records.
  • Ensure classrooms and learning resources are well maintained.

5. Leadership and Collaboration

  • Serve as a positive role model for learners.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues, parents, and school leadership.
  • Contribute ideas that improve teaching and learning.
  • Support the mission and values of Family Legacy.

6. Assessment and Records

  • Conduct classroom assessments and School-Based Assessments.
  • Prepare and maintain required academic records.
  • Support examination processes and reporting requirements.
  • Maintain accurate student and classroom documentation.

Qualifications

Education

  • Grade 12 Certificate.
  • Degree in Primary Education.
  • Valid Teaching Council of Zambia (TCZ) registration.

Experience

  • Minimum of two years teaching experience.

Skills and Competencies

  • Strong oral and written English communication skills.
  • Basic computer proficiency (MS Word and Excel).
  • Excellent classroom management skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and teamwork abilities.
  • Ability to work in a multicultural and faith-based environment.
  • High levels of integrity, professionalism, and accountability.
