The teachers we are looking for
We are looking for capable, committed primary teachers who can build strong foundations in literacy, numeracy, and learning across the curriculum.
- Strong knowledge of the Zambian primary curriculum.
- The ability to plan and deliver clear, engaging and well-structured lessons.
- Strong skills in teaching literacy and numeracy.
- The ability to assess learners and use the results to guide teaching and support.
- Good classroom management and high expectations for learner behaviour.
- The ability to support learners with different needs and levels of ability.
- Willingness to work closely with colleagues, parents and academic-support staff.
- Adaptability and readiness to take on different responsibilities as the school develops.
- Integrity, sound judgement and commitment to safeguarding children.
- Warmth, approachability and a good sense of humour.
- A genuine interest in football and willingness to assist with afternoon football coaching. A formal coaching qualification is not required.
The allocation of teachers to particular grades and responsibilities will be made after appointment, based on each teacher's strengths, experience and the needs of the school.
Qualifications and experience
- A bachelor's degree in primary education or another relevant education field.
- Valid and current Teaching Council of Zambia registration.
- Strong knowledge of the Zambian primary curriculum.
- Evidence of effective classroom teaching.
Applicants with a teaching diploma may be considered where they have strong experience and can demonstrate excellent teaching ability.
Experience teaching a Cambridge primary programme will be an advantage but is not required. Experience in early literacy, numeracy, reading programmes, upper-primary Mathematics or Science will also be an advantage.
No fixed number of years of teaching experience is specified. Selection will focus on demonstrated competence, achievements and suitability for the role.
Competitive remuneration is on offer. The appointment will be made on a 3-year contract.
