Mission
The Fintech Procurement Manager is responsible for leading and managing the end-to-end procurement function within the OpCo Fintech business. The role ensures strategic sourcing, supplier relationship management, contract governance, and cost optimization across all technology, digital, commercial, and operational procurement categories. The incumbent ensures compliance with Group Procurement & Supply Chain policies while enabling efficient acquisition of goods and services to support business performance
Core Responsibilities:
- Executes procurement strategy aligned with Group and OpCo Fintech objectives;
- Supports development of category strategies and the procurement roadmap;
- Adapts procurement practices to changing regulatory and business dynamics;
- Ensures compliance with MTN Fintech procurement policies, DOA and audit requirements;
- Maintains documentation, dashboards, and category governance frameworks;
- Supports internal and external audits with appropriate procurement documentation;
- Leads RFPs, RFQs, RFIs and evaluates supplier proposals;
- Negotiates contracts ensuring optimal commercial and legal outcomes;
- Ensures supplier adherence to SLAs and KPIs with proper tracking mechanisms;
- Oversees contract preparation, review and negotiation;
- Collaborates with Legal and Finance to ensure contractual compliance;
- Manages renewal cycles and contract lifecycle administration;
- Supports procurement spend forecasting and budget planning;
- Tracks performance against cost efficiency KPIs;
- Drives cost-saving initiatives through consolidation and competitive sourcing;
- Ensures timely procurement to support business operations;
- Leads stakeholder planning meetings for procurement alignment;
- Maintains and optimizes procurement systems and reporting tools;
Candidate Requirements:
- Grade twelve (12) Certificate with 5 credits or better including English and Mathematics:
- Degree in Procurement, Supply Chain, Business Administration, Finance, or related field;
- Professional certification such as CIPS is an added advantage;
- 4–6 years procurement experience within Fintech, Telecoms, Technology or Financial Services;
- Experience working in multinational environments, preferably emerging markets;
- Demonstrated experience in supplier negotiations and contract management;
- Strong knowledge of digital and technology procurement categories;
Behavioural Qualities:
Demonstrates strong behavioural capability in managing strategic sourcing activities, effectively negotiating commercial terms, and fostering productive supplier relationships. Consistently drives value by ensuring suppliers meet performance expectations while maintaining a collaborative and solutions‑oriented approach.
